In the centre of the square is this piece of art, which represents Newcastles history with the sea. The design is based on a ship and its sails.
On the opposite side of Times Square,to the Centre for Life is the Bioscince Centre where some of the leading bioscience companys in the country operate from.

This is the entrance to Times Square, where along with a few bars there is the Centre for Life .It is a wonderful place for kids and adults together. It has a massive amount of things to see and also take part in.It’s hugely entertaining and very educational.(but this one isn’t free to get in!)

I think the car park in front of these buildings (see yesterdays post) is trying to tell us something!

Just up from the Museum (yesterdays post) is this attractive gate to a small business.I thought it looked great.

On the opposite side of the road in Blandford Square is the wonderful Discovery Museum.
Its free to get in and it prize possesion is the ship, the Turbinia, the worlds first ever turbine-powered vessel.

Moving South from St.James we have St.James Boulevard and the brand new Dance City
building, which cost an estimated £7.6 million! Go to the link to see what goes on there.

Not a lot to say about this picture…..the home of one of the most famous ales in the world!

This post is for Alex in Sweden(sorry but I couldn’t get a link to work) who has posted some amazing images of the underground system where he lives. Newcastles is nowhere near as attractive as they are all plain white. However St.James station is more interesting as it has many photgraphes of Newcastle United players through the years and also-as you can see here-some of the fans.

This is a map of Newcastle metro system. Not quite as big as Londons but still very useful. This is St.James station(right next to St.James Park.)
P.S.Alex,there will be a posting just for you tomorrow
