Archive for January, 2007

This is the same as yesterday but from the other side. You can see the light source for the writing ‘hidden’ in the bushes..

This just looks like a lump of arty metal during the day but at night it is lit up and lists all the various jobs and activities that went on over the years in this area. I will show you another angle tomorrow.

Across the river is of course Gateshead. Before the massive amount of building on the south side of the river(Sage,Baltic,Millenium bridge etc), this was possibly it’s biggest claim to fame. Many famous athletes from all over the world have competed here.

Our local radio station is situated bang in the middle of a roundabout! This building also has a bar and apartments(which I have shown you before). It plays very mainstream music but I listen to it when they are reporting on Newcastle United away games!

A very well known local ‘celeb’,who advertises the hottest curry in town! If you finish it you don’t pay–and no I have never tried!

I know this was one of “P’s” favorite posts from the early days of my blog. Here’s another chance for you all to see it. It’s actually promoting a shoe shop in the arcade.

Opposite central station is this excellent bar.Very popular with students and music lovers. The bar is on three floors and has plenty of local bands and dj’s playing.

Another bar another piece of street art. This one is again,at the Quayside and for some reason reminds me of a whale!

I like the idea of the disabled toilet being…disabled! An eyesore in the middle of our city and I dont ever remember these toilets been in use!
Sorry the pic is so ‘noisy’ but it was very dark and had to bump up the ISO.
