On the opposite side of yesterdays picture is the main stone that told the date of the opening of the lead works.

Just behind yesterdays gate is whats left of the old lead works. It was a very industrial part of Newcastle,and although this part is a lot nicer and more tranquil,a lot of industry is still in the area.

This used to be the entrance to Byker farm and it was turned into an education centre for school children and adults.

The ousburn area is an oasis of calm with walking areas that make you feel like your in the country. The metro bridge above shows you that the city is only minutes away.
