Outside St. Nicholas Cathedral is this statue of Queen Victoria.

  1. Did you know that the statue is built over a plague pit? I wrote a blog entry on it a while back because I didn’t know that until last year when I spent a month back home.

  3. I think there is a small plaque at the base of the statue that mentions it, or I read it when searching for info on the cathedral. There are about 300 bodies in there from the cholera epidemic in the 1600′s.
