Yates Wine Bar

On Grainger Street. I’ve always thought it was a waste for this beautiful building to be a wine bar.

What a splendid building! It looks more like a seaside hotel than a town centre drinking emporium!

Right lovely! Doesn’t the morning sun this time of year make the town centre buildings look like they’re dipped in honey?

Great shot! I wondered what the building was for.

A long time before this building became a pub it was a department store called Wengers. I recall being taken there in the sixties for my school uniform and a few years later used to go out with a girl who used to work there as a shop assistant. OK that was probably more detail than anyone here wants.
