This is the bottom of Heaton Road, near the border with Byker.
I used to use the coin-operated laundrette that can be seen just to the left of middle over ten years ago. I’m amazed it’s still there.
I took this photo from the staircase at the Live Theatre on the Quayside on Friday night.
I really do like this building. I’ll try not to post any more pics of it for a while, though.
I took the pictures at the same time, both with my mobile phone, so I have no idea why the quality of light is so different. The building looks so much warmer on the first. Any ideas?
The Bodega on Westgate Road. I always forget this pub exists. I should make time to go there more often.
The light isn’t great in this shot, but I think it makes the pub look even more cosy and welcoming.
The NUFC shop near Monument.
Do check out South Shields daily photo; Curly is posting pictures of Newcastle over the next few days. Funnily enough his photo from yesterday was taken just round the corner from here. His photos are excellent so do check them out… just remember to come back

More of the Waterstones lions. I quite like ‘em.
The Waterstones building really is impressive.
This lion is on the Waterstones building. I’d never noticed it til recently.
I’m glad to be posting again. I enjoyed Cassandra’s pics, but I’d missed it!

Just around from Vulcan is Reach for the Stars nestled between two buildings near the Telegraph.
