Originally posted on 6 Feb 2008, the miner at the top of Burt Hall. The original photo had been antiqued but this is the original blue-sky version. Beth mentioned it in her post this past Sunday.
This shop is almost directly underneath the ones taken from the Tyne Bridge that I posted last week – give or take a few feet….
I had never spotted this building, with a miner on the top, until Cassandra posted a picture of it last year.
Thomas Burt, who the hall was named after, was one of the first working class Members of Parliament.
Now the building is part of Northumbria University.

A shot down towards the Royal Theatre and the street that won the most beautiful street in Britain a while back.
‘Man with three potential selves’ is near Central Station. This self has bare feet, and a rather jaunty posture.
