Northumbria Uni Business School

This building has been featured quite a few times, but it’s such an interesting building that it has want of many posts. It’s hard to wrap your head around what it really looks like from photo’s, and these two are both sides (east and west) of the building. I think both are new.

Hi I like this building, nice shot and it is also nice to see where my eldest grandson is just starting his second year MikeM
How things have changed since I went to Rutherford College and later the Poly, forerunners of the university. The pictures are excellent but I am not sure if it is an improvement.
Weird!
I like them both, but the second shot especially is great.
The building has won a lot of awards, its just right for a forward thinking 21st century establishment like Northumbria Uni. I like your 1st shot the best Cass, I may have to plagiarize that angle sometime!
Alf, the old University buildings are still there, this new city campus east is built where the old Warners cinema and car park used to be, and before that it was a derelict brownfield site.
Mike

Good luck to your grandson, MikeM!
Plagiarize anytime, Mike
Thanks, Beth!
Great building – and it looks great at night when it’s lit up, but considering the financial trouble Northumbria is in, the waste of electrticity (funded, no doubt, by overcharging foreign students) is astounding.
Frank – it’s a pretty energy efficient building, so I’d be surprised if there’s a large amount of waste. See here or here.
Good to know. Nice picture of he shopping carts above.
