I am surprised but I must never have boarded the Metro at Jesmond before because I would certainly have remembered that view. It is very strange but I really like it. Was the photograph taken from inside the station as I seem to picking up a slight reflection in front of the second column, if that is the right name for it? Mind you, I am using an old borrowed laptop at the moment and the screen quality leaves a lot to be desired.
I have looked at this picture and came back to have another look.
For some reason, I think of Thailand and the falling down temples covered in vines (or something green) for the middle one. The another look and it looks like a Buddha with head and some arms missing.
The other six look like Celtic Crosses, then again they remind me of Easter Island.
Needless to say I have never been to either of these places.
The mind and eye is a funny old thing – just like its owner.
Mrs. K. the first thing that came in to my head when I saw the picture was Polynesia but I thought I was being a bit fanciful but now I’m not so sure.
Alf, yes there is a slight reflection–the station surrounds the courtyard in a u shape. I was standing inside the station.
It reminds me of Easter Island, too, Mrs K. I thought maybe I was just projecting onto it but it seems you and Alf have similar notions!
