3-mile-castle

People sitting outside th Mile Castle at the corner of Grainger Street and Westgate Rd on Sunday last.

Incidentally I always thought it was ‘Three Mile Castle’. Even when I was taking the picture. No marks for observation for me!

Oh and the facebook page is up and running again… ‘like’ it for extra news and photos :)

  1. Usual great photo!

  2. awww to sit chilling outside a pub on a sunday … wot better way to pass ur time… wonder if they do lunches to save on the time in the kitchen as a brucey bonus !!

  3. Confusion with the three mile inn (out near the racecourse, is/was it)?

    Is that still there?

  4. Now there’s a coincidence, I am heading off to the Mille Castle tomorrow in one of my rare forays to the town to meet some old friends. The beer is good, the food is edible and the air conditioning is fierce. I was in about three weeks ago and it was hot and humid outside so I was carrying my jacket. As I draped it over the back of the chair one friend said, “you will probably want to put that back on in ten minutes”. He was right.

  5. I’ve heard a lot about the Mile Castle – sounds pretty good and I must call in!

Yes Rob, the Three Mile is still there – in it’s latest configuration, which is pretty good! Yes, it’s fairly near the racecourse, and I’ve always assumed it’s called the Three Mile Inn as that point in Gosforth is about three miles from the city centre.
