Monument: now with added trees?

trees

Anyone know why??

Edited to add: if only when I’d taken this pic I’d bothered to look at the bottom of the planters! I would have seen that it says ‘Grey Street Garden. Worth clicking though – it looks like things have been a bit, errrm, green on Grey Street. I don’t think they were all still there when I was last passing though – but I’ll have to check next time I’m in town.

  1. No idea! There’s some greenery creeping down Grey Street from here too!

  2. There are some outside the Theatre Royal which make it difficult to walk past. What is happening to our city? Beaches on the Quayside whatever next.

  3. oooh .. wonder if these are gonna be decorated for xmas trees. Could our council really be getting its act together and getting organised ???

  4. It’s something organised by NE1, I think it’s only supposed to be for July to September but I do like the idea of them all being individually decorated for Christmas!

  5. I missed what you were saying about the Quayside but was down there yesterday – palm trees, whatever next?! ‘come for the Geordie welcome, stay for the tropical climate!’?!

  6. They were still there yesterday. Lovely in the sunshine. Pics soon – watch the sadly neglected flickr feed for a preview….
