Quayside seaside #1

I managed to miss this Quayside Seaside business until the very end – I was down on the Quayside yesterday and they were taking away the trees
– but I’m still torn between thinking the idea is genuis and completely insane. ‘Come for the famous Geordie welcome, stay for the tropical climate!!!’ ?????!? Who the hell came up with that one?!
Another pic tomorrow….
Oh and I’m gutted to report that Sunday was the last day for the Grey Street Garden too

awww totally share ur sentiment with regard to removing them. I now live in Bristol and a similar thing has occurred. Dozens of life size gorillas were placed in dozens of locations all around the city a few months ago. They have now been removed and the place looks bare without them. Wish the councils would start asking residents if they wish for things to remain.
I can’t imagine many people being attracted to the Quayside Seaside during the winter months though it was well populated on the day I visited. It would have been nice if they had left the palm trees along the river side. I love the shot of all those bridges.
That place must be nice in autumn. Nice walks and talks there, I imagine.

Yeah Twace, one of my sisters lives in Munich and they put loads of lions round the city a few years back – I think they were supposed to all go a little while later (and I believe a lot of them did) but I would miss them when I visit her if the rest of them went too! And I still miss the lego men from Haymarket, although at least half the city hated them I guess :/
Alf… possibly not but it still would’ve been nice for it to be there – at least the trees
SUCH bad timing for them taking them away though, they would’ve been great there this week as they were SUPPOSED to be!
Thanks for visiting Valery – it is!
