This is a shot of the Laing Art Gallery, located on Newbridge Street. They are currently running three interesting programmes:

2. Land and Sea, click HERE for more info.
and 3. Love, click

And the best thing about the Laing is that it’s free!

Our train from Edinburgh got stuck in New Castle; we were going to old Durham town. Seems we should have just gotten off in New Castle, because parts of the cathedral were blocked off for a wedding anyway.
And that Gallery is where the Lindisfarne Chronicles should be - not down in London.
I was in there a few weeks ago to see the National Galleries touring exhibition - Love.
My favourite was the Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema’s “The Unconscious Rivals”,1893. That was the oil on canvas painting of the 2 ‘lady’s of the night’ next to some pink flowers growing in a container. The detail and 3D effect of the flowers was brilliant.
Cass, how about a picture from the walkway inside the High Level Bridge! (next to the Castle Keep). It’s been closed for over 3 years whilst restoration work was carried out on it, and has recently opened back up to pedestrians, cycles, and buses.
Mike.
