I had an appointment in Wallsend last week. I found a little place called The Green which I’d never discovered before. This road looked like it belonged in a tiny country village, not the middle of Wallsend, a not-terribly-exciting town in North Tyneside.
A few more pics on flickr.

I was born in a hospital in The Green in Wallsend!
I’ve never been there (apart from being born there), is there still a hospital there?

Yes! If I am back that way I will take a photo!
What a strange coincidence….
hey beth, i actually live on crow bank, and have done all my life!
Have (very belatedly!) replied to your message about Crow Bank in Wallsend!
My grandparents lived on Crow Bank (the house and orchard were called Glyncoed) for many years and I spent many happy times there - I loved it and still have fond thoughts of the place. One day I will wander back down there to see it again. Sting used to be their milkman!! Also, my doctor (Dr Cowper) lived/worked at The Green, and I always thought it looked very village like too!
