Voted by Radio Four listeners a few years back as the most beautiful street in Europe.
Not quite sure what happened to Cassandra yesterday - hopefully she’s OK and she might go back and add a picture - we’ll see!

The first time this picture was posted on 8 Nov. last year, the focus was on the flowers that bloom even in November around the city centre. This time, however, the focus is on the Claremont Building behind the flowers.
Claremont Building will be the new home of the Northern Writers Centre. The Northern Writers’ Centre brings together the School of English at Newcastle University and New Writing North, the writing development agency for the north east of England, and will be a flagship venue for writers, young people and literature audiences in Newcastle upon Tyne and will be the first of its kind in the UK.
The Northern Writers Centre recently announced the The Mulcahy Conway Award for Children’s Fiction. The contest is open to anyone living or working in the city, or student or alumni of Newcastle University. The contest will award £1,000 to the best piece of unpublished fiction written for children. Click here for more info!
PS, sorry this didn’t post last Wednesday!
