I mentioned a while ago that I should look up more. That Newcastle’s a rewarding city to look up in.
Here’s more proof of that. I have no idea if these buildings have always been this colour, or if they’ve been painted recently. The colours look to me as if they belong in Scandinavia somewhere, not Newcastle city centre.
The buildings are on Northumberland Street, opposite the Northern Rock building pictured yesterday.

Northern Rock on Northumberland Street. Great building again. I particularly love the clock and look up at it every time I walk down Northumberland Street from Haymarket. I’ll have to get a close-up at some point.
I’m not going to weigh in on the debate on the bonuses given to Northern Rock, other than to say too bloody right they didn’t give ‘em to execs or senior management!
PS - Cassandra’s having internet access issues but will be back soon (I hope!)

The Lloyds TSB Building in Byker. I never noticed this building much when I went to the gym in the East End Pool. It’s amazing though, isn’t it?

This mosaic in Byker is just off Shields Road, near the East End Pool and Library. I’d never seen it before my last trip to Byker.
It’s a shame about the litter.
