Northumberland Road, which links Northumberland Street with John Dobson Street and beyond, is a pretty dull road. I’ve been wanting to post a pic of it for a while, but couldn’t make it interesting enough.
Then I went for a coffee in Costa Coffee (I usually frequent Starbucks, but it was too busy to get a seat that day) and spotted this shot. It looks pretty good like this :)
Just to keep you all up to date - I heard about the illumination of Hadrian’s Wall a few weeks back but someone had got their wires crossed and thought it had happened already. I’m really glad I’ve not missed it. I’ll be in Wallsend on Saturday night for the beginning.

Very interesting perspective. Just been doing a catch-up again and as usual am amazed. Just wish I had known that the Miners place hired out rooms, such good prices.
However, I won’t be looking in till Saturday - off to the big smoke for Chairty launch Wed. Bad news is - back to wheelchair and zimmer - but who cares the sun is shining and the sky is blue - again - and Beth and Cassandra keep on posting and lifting my spirits.
I have never tried this coffee house before but will give it a try next time we are in town. On the Hadrian Wall subject, that illumination event looks a*maz*ing…..wish we were there to experience it….lucky you! Please don’t forget your camera, Beth. I look forward to seeing those images!
Beth, you certainly have an eye for the unusual shot, I love it.
thanks mrs k! the weather is really making a difference to me. i’ve still been finding work extremely tiring and still been fairly antisocial, but everything is easier now the sun’s remembered what it’s supposed to do.
hope london goes smoothly and the station people are better there this time round!
ash - hope you like it! i’ll post pics of the illuminations when i can.
thanks alf. posting to this site has really helped me to look for shots where they aren’t immediately obvious. i’m glad to know people like what i post :)
