One of the images requested on the facebook group was the Castle Keep. The hubby and I went for a walk last week while we were off on leave and explored some ground above the Quayside that we accessed from behind the Telegraph (a pub behind the station). I’m looking forward to posting some more of the pics.

Fantastic! And amazing that it has survived through eight centuries!
It’s great - have you been in and on the top?
The view from the top is fantastic - remember that one sunny day we had in April last year?? we went up then and got some fantastic pics - could see for miles and miles. The stairs up there aren’t for the faint hearted though :)
It is fantastic isn’t it? Sue, you are right about those steps. I took one look and almost didn’t go up but the view from the top made it worth the effort. The Castle Keep link that Beth has above leads to a wonderful virtual tour including a panoramic view from the roof. I remember taking my grandchildren to see the Keep and as we walked round the Queen’s Chamber the oldest one, then about 10, said, “Where would she have put the TV?”
Majestic, both the photo and the building
I really enjoyed the day my bf and I went to the Keep. We went in and all the way up; it has a really stunning view from the top! Thanks for the pic! :D
