The sun had gone in on the day last week when I took this shot, but people were still sitting outside the Civic Centre and watching the world go by. There are worse places to be.
Going to the Hoppings tomorrow night and hoping that the weather holds out - it’s lovely so far! Pics later in the week.

That’s a FAB shot, B!
Until recently, that’s my wifes office window, first floor on the right hand side, amongst that group of nine windows!!
Love the Civic Centre, have written about it on SSC, but won’t bore you with any more links!!!
It looks so peaceful considering how close it is to the buzz of the city centre. Is that another little reflection in the water in the foreground?
For many reasons the Civic Centre has a sad association for me however this is a very tranquil, park-like scene just as Alf describes so close to a busy city. Looking forward to some Hoppings pictures…one of the many highlights of a Newcastle summer!
Hi, thanks for a wonderful site
I live in thailand on an island called Koh Samui and its always nice to look at some of these pics when i miss home a little bit. I forgot about the light nights (not seen UK summer for 2 years and its gets light at 6 am and dark at 6pm here)
This picture is particularly poignant because it was my grandfather who put the smaller horses heads on the building!
Thanks once again for a great site.
